On Sunday I took a long and unexpected walk into one of the wildest and least visited sections of Old Growth Caledonian Forest in the Cairngorms. Located on a mountainside the terrain is a brutal mixture of steep slopes, deep heather, boulders and hidden voids. Even if you’re fit and used to walking around in old forest it’s a hard place to move about, but the rewards of going there were great. The weather was an impressive mixture of blue skies and blizzards with a stiff wind, creating some beautiful winter conditions by the end of the day in one of the most awe-inspiring forests in Scotland.
Here are the stills from my day out. Enjoy!
